This collection, inspired by a type of fence built by Indigenous people called Caiçara, uses the Yellow Pescada fish in its details. The vertical bars, suggestive of the shape of the fences, also represent the Denise Gerassi brand’s signature.
The pescada leather is a byproduct of the fishing industry, and is sourced from regulated fisheries that ensure sustainable and controlled exploration. The use of the leather brings new economic opportunities for Amazon’s riverside communities.
Our curing method uses exclusively organic materials, free of toxic metals. This process allows for a more natural and bright color, as well as flexible and resistant leather.
Other than Pescada leather, these bags are made with cowhide leather, a byproduct of the meat industry.
